Chief Legal Officer (Healthcare) & Secretary
Ms. Montgomery, originally a practicing nurse, worked at Texas Children’s Hospital (TCH) in the Texas Medical Center located in Houston. Her practical experience and focus was in pediatric intensive care, neonatal intensive care, dialysis, and cardiology (Head Nurse of the TCH Cardiology Service) in conjunction with the TCH cardiology group and the Denton Cooley surgical service. She also worked with St. Luke's Hospital, the adult sister hospital of TCH, in the provision of care in the adult neurology, dialysis, cardiac and heart transplant units.
She left the practice of nursing and many years to pursue a law career. After law school, she practiced as a sole practitioner for ten years, representing her own clients in matters of family law, corporate law, personal injury and medical malpractice, but also served as a medical consultant to various local firms and the City of Houston Legal Department.
She later joined a Houston-based defense firm for ten years, where, as a supervising shareholder, she defended multi-million-dollar dockets consisting of personal injury, product liability, toxic tort, and real estate transactions. During that time, she transitioned her medical background into representing physicians and healthcare facilities in real estate, malpractice, contract disputes, and regulatory matters.
Ms. Montgomery has also served as an adjunct professor at Texas Women’s University School of Nursing in Houston, where she prepared the course syllabus and taught risk management to doctoral candidates.
Ms. Montgomery obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Texas and her Master of Science degree from Texas Women's University. She obtained her law degree from South Texas College of Law and her Master of Laws in Health Law from the University of Houston Law School. Her background in both medicine and law provides her with a unique and invaluable perspective in working with Nutex, the hospitals and physicians/staff of Nutex.
Her focus at Nutex is to oversee all corporate legal matters and assist in the growth of the Company and hospitals.
